rangrasiya
In order to support the noble cause of upgrading the conditions of our permanent project – The Gram Panchayat School at Vesu, we decided to organize a drama. After much brain storming, the slapstick drama – Rang Rasiya Jara Aatle Thi Atko was finalised. The ticket rates were fixed at Rs. 500, 300 & 200 and Riversiders took up the task of selling maximum tickets.
Our club managed to sell a good volume of seats for the play as was evident from the size of the crowd which gathered at the venue on Friday the 30th January to enjoy the witty play. The drama which was directed by Mr. Pankaj Pathakji – a renowned name in Gujarati stage play was humorously performed by the cast and the audience enjoyed each and every moment of it.
In the interval, president Ravi Shah & PP Rtn Jugal Shinglot acknowledged the presence of well known actor Darsh Jariwala (Gandhi fame). President gave a short but meaningful speech to apprise the public about the purpose of the event. He quickly briefed them about our assistance extended to the school in the past and how the proceeds of the drama will help bring smiles to the 320+ students of Vesu. As a result of the hard work and dedication of all members of our club, we were able to gross an amount of around Rs. 1.5 lacs. The earnings would also help support The Rotary Foundation which provides humanitarian grants worldwide for the betterment of the community.
Three cheers for Rotary Surat Riverside.
